The Iron Rose Memorial ground in Oslo after the 22nd July 2011 Terror attacks
After the terrorist attacks in Oslo and Utøya July 22 2011, when almost 80 people were killed, the majority of them teenagers, Malm created the international blacksmith project Iron Rose, inspired by the masses of roses put down in the streets after the gruesome event.
Through a Facebook group he invited the worlds blacksmiths to forge and send roses to Norway. Since August 2011 more than 850 roses created by blacksmiths from more than 25 countries has come through the post and more than 100 relatives of the victims and survivors have visited his workshop and forged roses in memory of their loved ones.
The Iron Rose memorial will be completed and erected summer 2016 in Stensparken in Oslo. Read more…
